<p><strong>1956   </strong>The Five Satins, the Channels, the Clovers, the Valentines, and the Schoolboys appeared at D. Jive&#8217;s Rock &#8216;n&#8217; Roll Show at the Apollo Theater.</p>
<p><strong>1962   </strong>Bob B. Sox &amp; the Blue Jeans recorded the Phil Spector-produced &#8220;Zip&#8211;Dee-Doo-Dah&#8221; (#8 pop). The group was really the Blossoms, with Darlene Love and studio singer Bobby Sheen on lead.</p>
<p><strong>1989   </strong>Patti LaBelle appeared in the Who&#8217;s <em>Tommy</em>, with an all-star cast including Phil Collins and Elton John, at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles. She played the part of the Acid Queen.</p>
<p><strong>1991   </strong>Boyz II men&#8217;s debut album, <em>Cooleyhighharmony</em>, reached #3 pop. The quartet was discovered by New Edition/Bell Biv DeVoe member Micheal Bivins, who was performing at Philadelphia&#8217;s Civic Center. They began singing to him as he left the stage, and two months later he signed them to Motown through his production company.</p>

<p><strong>1992   </strong>Wilson Pickett was arrested for driving with open bottles of vodka and beer cans in his car. This might have resulted in a lesser charge, but the discovery was made by police after Wilson hitthe car of an eighty-six-yea-old man, sending he driver to the hospital.</p>
<p><strong>1996   </strong>Brandy, with help from Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, and Tamia charted with &#8220;Missing You&#8221; (#25).</p>

<p><strong>1997   </strong>As Micheal Jackson was about to start a concert in the olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland, an escaped mental patient attempted to set fire to the stage and was subsequently carried away  by police.</p>
