Hosh]]></author_name><author_url><![CDATA[https://kcelections.com/author/khosh1/]]></author_url><title><![CDATA[King County Elections and Seattle Foundation launch $400,000 Voter Education&nbsp;Fund]]></title><type><![CDATA[link]]></type><html><![CDATA[<p>We’re excited to announce that today King County Elections and Seattle Foundation <a href="http://www.kingcounty.gov/depts/elections/about-us/newsroom/news-releases/2017/april/3-voter-education-fund.aspx">launched the Voter Education Fund</a> to award $400,000 in grants to community-based organizations.<!--more--></p>
<p>Organizations can apply for funding to offer basic education about voting in King County and technical assistance, such as helping voters change their address in their preferred language.</p>

<p>Grants of up to $25,000 are available to develop a 9-month campaign focused on voter engagement or up to $10,000 for a series of smaller events.</p>
<p>Who should apply? Any organization that works to reduce inequities in voting access in historically marginalized communities, such as communities of color, limited-English speaking communities, people with disabilities, low-income youth, veterans, the homeless and reinstated voters who have been convicted of a felony.</p>
<p>Voter engagement activities should involve community members, create community interest in participating in elections and voting and be non-partisan. All activities must occur within King County limits.</p>

<p>Three information sessions will be held for anyone who wants to learn more about the program and get assistance.</p>
