A subtle and profound sound with a variety of textures, beautiful and delicate cord progressions, angelic and diabolical singing, progressive acoustic guitars, dream-like atmospheric melodies an aggressive distorted guitars that evoke images of a big black cloud covering the winter sky. Alcest are a band from France that formed in the late 90’s, their sound started off as black metal but progressed into “Blackgaze” a melancholic, emotional, avant garde version of soul-raping black metal. They’ve released several excellent albums like “Ecailles de Lune” “Les Voyages de l’Ame” and “Souvenirs d’un Autre Monde” dynamic, vivid and surreal music.
