רבות שמענו על מסלול Menalon שביל המנלון, הליכה באורך 75 ק"מ מסטמניצה עד לגקדיה, המסלול עובר את הנוף הדרמטי של ערוץ לוסיוס, המורדות המערביים של הר מנלון, עמק נהר מיילון והרי גורטיניאן. השביל מחולק לשמונה קטעים בעלי קושי משתנה, בגלל שהיה קר מאוד בהרים בנובמבר החלטנו לא לוותר ובכל זאת לעשות את רוב המסלול אבל.. באוטו ולעצור בחלק מהכפרים.
התחלנו סטימיניצה Stemnitsa. בכפר הזה ידוע שרוב התושבים עוסקים בעבודות צורפות
ולכן ניתן למצוא מגוון חנויות תכשיטים תוצרת מקומית, בכיכר המרכזית יש כנסיה, בתי קפה ומאפיות, שוטטנו בסמטאות וחזרנו לאוטו לסיעה בירידה ציורית אל ערוץ לוסיוס מעבר למנזר פרודרומוס, ואחריה עלייה למנזרי פילוספו העתיקים והחדשים. השביל עוקב אחר מסלול הנהר ממנזר פרודרומוס לכיוון דמיצנה .
דמיצנה Dimitsana. נחשב לכפר היפה ביותר בארקדיה ובהחלט מדהים כאן, הרחוב הראשי והמפותל של הכפר מלא בחנויות תוצרת מקומית, גבינות, שמני זית, ריבות, תה וחפצי אומנות, טיילנו וטעמנו מאפים וקינוחים מקומיים. שבעים ומרוצים המשכנו לכיוון Zygovisti זיקוביסטי עלייה עדינה מעבר למנזר סנט אפוסטולי, ולאורכם של שבילים, דרכי עפר ושדות. משם נסענו לויטניה Vytina האזור ייצור שיש הנקרא "השחור מויטינה". המשכנו בשביל מיוער חלקית שעובר ליד חורבות עתיקות וטחנות רוח נטושות ואז יורד לערוץ קצר לפני שהוא עולה בעדינות למבצר ביזנטי, וחוצה עמקים לפני שהוא מסתיים באנדרטת מלחמה בלגקדיה Lagkadia הדרך משלבת כבישים צרים ומפותלים, שבילי עיזים צרים ותלותלים והכל דרך הכפרים המהממים המשובצים שבהרים הגבוהים.
מומלץ ביותר, אפשר כמובן לעשות רגלית גם מקטעים בודדים מתוך ה-8 האפשריים.
כמשפחה ספורטיבית בחרנו באחד הימים לנסוע לאולמפיה העתיקה העיר שבה נערכו המשחקים האולימפיים בעת העתיקה, עוד ידוע שבחורשה קדושה באולימפיה ניצבים מקדש זאוס ופסל זאוס אשר נחשב לאחד משבעת פלאי העולם העתיק.
המיתולוגיה היוונית מספרת שמקור המשחקים האולימפים הם בזכות פלופוס נסיך הפלופונסוס, שהביס את המלך אוינומאוס במרוץ מרכבות סוסים כדי לזכות בידה של בתו הנסיכה היפודאמיה ואגדה אחרת מספרת שהרקולס יצר את המשחקים האולימפיים באולימפיה לכבודו של פלופס לאחר 12 מעללי הגבורה שהוטלו עליו, והקים את עבורו את המתחם המקודש בחורשה.
כך או כך התרגשנו לבקר את המגרש האולימפי, דמיינו יחד בהנאה את התחרויות, המשחקים, מראה הקהל ההומה ואת מה שהתרחש מאחורי הקלעים.

We have heard a lot about the Menalon Trail a 75 km long hiking trail from Stamnitsa to Lagadia, the trail passes the dramatic view of the Lucius Channel, the western slopes of Mount Menlon, the Mylon River Valley and the Gortinian Mountains. The trail is divided into eight sections of varying difficulty
we arrived the mountains in a cool day on November and decided not to give up and still do most of the route but .. by car and stop in some of the villages.
We started at Stamnitsa. In this village it is known that most of the residents are engaged in goldsmithing So you can find a variety of locally made jewelry stores, in the main square there is a church, cafes and bakeries, the amazing alleys we traveld where great and we returned to the car in the direction of Demitsana. The trail follows the river route from Prodromos Monastery.
Dimitsana. Considered the most beautiful village in Arcadia and it's absolutely amazing here, the main and winding street of the village is full of shops of local produce, cheeses, olive oils, jams, teas and handicrafts. we walked and tasted local pastries and desserts. Seventy and satisfied we continued in the direction of Zygovisti. From there we drove to Vytina The area produces marble called "Black from Vytina". We continued on a partially wooded path that passes by ancient ruins and abandoned windmills and then descends into a short gorge before ascending gently to a Byzantine fortress, then passing through the open country and across valleys before ending at a Lagkadia war memorial The road combines narrow and winding roads Embedded in the high mountains.

As a sports family we chose one day to go to the ancient Olympia the city where the ancient Olympic Games were held, it is also known that in a sacred grove in Olympia stand the Temple of Zeus and the statue of Zeus which is considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

We were excited to visit the Olympic field, imagining together with pleasure the competitions, the games, the sight of the crowded crowd and what went on behind the scenes.
In the driveway we collected sweet fruit from the Madrones tree and on the way back home we found sweet and delicious miniature apple trees.
