Jesus Christ died for us, while we were still sinners and enemies of God.

“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jer 29:7 NIV)

The Lutheran Order of Service for the 21^st Sunday after Trinity is available here in isiZulu and seTswana. Today it comes with a sermon based on God’s Word from the Holy Gospel of St. Matthew in the 5^th chapter verses 38-48: “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” This sermon was written by Rev. Dr. S.E. Sithole (eThekwini, KZN) in isiZulu (2015 21SaTrinity) and translated as usual by my father Rev. E.A.W.Weber DD (Welbedacht, KZN) into seTswana (wz1553151025 n Tr 21).

The readings for the 21^st Sunday after Trinity are:

• Old Testament:       Jeremiah 29:1.4-7.10-14
• The Epistle:            Ephesians 6:10-17
• The Gospel:            St. Matthew 5:38-48
• Psalm:                   19:10.12-13.15

The liturgical colour is green.

May you have a very blessed weekend and have time to meditate on the watchword for the 20^th Sunday after Trinity: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Rom 12:21 NIV)

And we pray with this collect for the 20^th Sunday after Trinity: O Lord, keep Your household, the Church, in continual godliness that through Your protection she may be free from all adversities and devoutly given to serve You in good works; through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God now and forever. Amen.

If you are called to preach this weekend, may the triune God give you joy and strength, wisdom, knowledge and insight – and the true words and pictures to preach his holy will faithfully according to his most precious revelation of his will and promises in both the Old and New Testament! However if you are not preaching, but listening – then listen as if God is talking to you + His precious gospel is “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” (Rom 1:16 NIV)
