Remembering when We Were Young

We’d Made a Date Every Single Summer, to Head Toward the North, to Soak in Some Cool Water

And, as the Winters Came, We’d Agreed, to Meet Back Up Someplace Warmer

And, I’d Loved Engaging in that Competition of Blowing Water Out of Our Holes with You

To See Whose Was Higher and Who Can Outlast Whom

Sometimes, When We Were Really into it

We’d, Swum Hard in the Oceans

Then, Using ALL of Our Strengths, Kick Hard

Pushing Our Bodies, Over the Surfaces of the Oceans

Making a HUGE Wave, Sending the Waves that Rushed into the Shores

Don’t Know When It’d Started Happening

But Those Cacophonous Sounds that Don’t Belong to the Oceans Increased

And, We’d Told One Another, that Those Sounds Were from, the Monsters

When We’d Learned that Day, that the Monster Was About to Arrive

All of a Sudden, it’d, Taken Our Friends from All Around Us

Wave, After Wave, the Tides Came, and Went

So, this, is kinda environmental, isn’t it? Because of the whaling business is lucrative, humans don’t CARE if they hurt other living creatures, and, this is for the sake of the whales which were hunted, that weren’t supposed to have been targeted by humans…
