I’m Guessing, that it was, Waiting by the Side of the Roads for Me

Its Dark Black Eyes So Deep Gazing Passionately

Seemed to, about to, Start Dripping—it’d, Introduced itself to Me:

It is, a Clean Piece of Coal

A Perfect Square

From the Glorious, Ancient Mines Down Underground

It Had that Scent of Elegance

Made Me Think, that Perhaps, I Could Carve it into a Plaque

or, Polish it into a Mirror

Or, Make it into a Piece of Jewelry. I’d Asked:

Why Did You Show Up Here?

In This Owing to the Brightness

Where there’s, Brightness Everywhere, the Surface of Earth

Your Black is Perfect to a Shine

to Becoming, an Eyesore—————

You Should be in Hiding

Or, Maybe, be More Low-Key, Don’t be So Black

Although as Everybody Takes One Look at You

People Would Know You’re NOTHING More than a Piece of Coal

But, Coals Should be Dirty, and Black

This Black-White Layered Human World

The Hearts are Grayed Out in the in-Betweens

And, Coals Should Just Keep on Being Black Like This

Not Completely Black

But, Definitely Black, Black, AND Dirty———

I’d, Took it Up into My Hands, Toyed with It

Felt its, Heavy Weight

Like it was, Trying to Get Help from Gravity

to Leave My Hand

to Return Back to the Earth, to the Underground, to the Center………

But I am, Eventually, a Primate that Needed Warmth

I Have Too Little Hair Covering Me Up

Couldn’t Withstand Being Toyed by the Winds

I’d Told it: I’m Sorry

Although You’re a Piece of Coal so Clean

But I Couldn’t Give You Any Special Treatments———

I’d Tossed it into the Fires

The Fires Rushed Up from All Around

Kissing it, Sucked Out the Energy that it has within

I’d Immediately Felt Warm All Over

Just Like Many Years Later

I’d Still Remembered

How on This Extremely Cold and Cruel Winter Day

There was, those Smokes that’s Risen into the Skies

Used Its Special Quality

Mixed Itself into that Dirtied, Grayed Sky

Then, Fallen Down

onto that Equally

Blackened Earth

And this would be, on the government’s thought of going back to using coal for energy, to save on the electricity, and, this IS, going BACKWARDS in time, the reason WHY coal wasn’t used anymore WAS because of the air pollution it created from ages ago, and now, due to energy shortage, this government is going BACKWARDS!!!
