<![CDATA[Moniker Art Fair 2017]]>Over the last weekend from the 6-9th October the Moniker Art Fair returned to East London for its eighth consecutive year, in the most appropriate location to host such a large expose of Street Art in a gallery setting, namely The Old Truman Brewery at the heart of Brick Lane. The event was yet again held in conjunction with The Other Art Fair, however it is the Moniker Art Fair element we were principally interested in and shall be focusing on here.

We have to say it was a real pleasure attending the Press Viewing on 5th October for what is unquestionably the most impressive Moniker Art fair we have attended the last few years, with the event really utilizing the space, with a program of events, installations, a mural programme around Brick Lane and of course the doubling of the number of stalls taken by galleries or independent artists from last years fair. This year saw some 30 galleries and artists represented across some 40 stalls, bringing artists we are very familiar with from around the world stage as well as a breadth of fantastic works from artists we had not previously been aware of.

As for individual pieces there were so many excellent works and individual setups it is extremely hard to choose our favourite, however it is only fair to say that the Thinkspace Gallery visiting from LA stole the show with an incredible 7 solo shows and one group exhibition – two of which sold out entirely on the preview night – with Dulk’s solo show ‘Extinction’ being our favourite show of the event. Additionally shows by Kevin Peterson, Telmo Miel, Max Zorn and Dotmasters installation set up (which we couldn’t photo in its full entireity and glory due to the place being so busy) providing the events stand out set-ups. So until the next time enjoy some of the works from the Moniker Art Fair 2017.l
