<![CDATA[New Irony Street Art Around Penge and Anerley]]>Next up in our run of catching up with what we have been up to in our corner of South-East London over the recent few months we are taking a look at a superb pair of works from street artist Irony placed up a couple of months ago around Penge and Anerley for our SprayExhibition20 community street art project.

Both of Irony’s recent additions to SE20 present strong independent female subjects, which is a prevalent feature of Irony’s photo-realistic portraiture. For the work in Evelina Road Irony came by to leave a Halloween inspired design which was very much inspired by 2020 and depicts a woman smoking whilst wearing face mask. For the work in Elmers End Road presents a lovely portrait which makes exemplary use of the space available,  we love how the paint comes out of the central frame of the empty shop window. Both are certainly striking works and we are so pleased to have them up about SE20.

We of course wish to say a massive thank you to the owners of the spaces who kindly donated spots and trusted us to work them. As well as a really big thank you to Irony for coming back to the area to support this initiative and for leaving such beautiful artworks for the town and visitors to enjoy.
