Next up in our series of posts playing catch-up with whats been happening on the Street Art and Graffiti scene around East London, we are taking a look at a recent piece by Street Artist Jimmy C. Certainly an interesting work and one that features as its subject the most contentious and dividing issue among society in the UK over the last year, namely that of the validity, necessity and safety of a Covid-19 vaccine. The work which is very cleverly titled Vaccine Nation is a self-portrait showing Jimmy at the front of a queue of people receiving his Covid vaccine. The work presents an interesting array of techniques with Jimmy C portrayed in his trademark Pointillist style, whilst the queue of people behind him being presented in a loose more illustrative style and the half of the work featuring the doctor/nurse who is administering the vaccine being dominated by a series of dripping paint techniques. All making for a captivating scene. This fantastic work can be found in New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, around the back of the Old Blue Last pub.
