<![CDATA[New Irony Street Art in Penge & Anerley]]>Next up we are finally playing catch-up with a trio of fantastic additions to SE20 placed up by Irony back in the Spring for our SprayExhibition20 Community Street Art Project around Penge and Anerley. It’s always a pleasure to have this talented artist visit our hometown and leave such brilliant works in the process, with the works dropped this year by Irony we are mostly impressed by the level of photo-realism Irony can generate on corrugated shutters – for the record nobody who paints realism on such a scale have attempted to paint shutters for our project in the last six years. Ever one to take on less than perfect spots and completely own them in the process it really does seem there is nothing that Irony can’t transform in a spectacular fashion as demonstrated in the body of works shared below. The work in St John’s Road is no longer there, though something has taken its place, and the works in Parish Lane and Seymour Villas are still running should anyone wish to come see them in person.
We of course wish to say a massive thank you to each of the generous space owners, who kindly donated a spot and trusted us to work it. As well as offering a really big thank you to Irony for returning to the area to once again support this initiative and for leaving such a beautiful series of artworks in the process. The works are all located in Penge and Anerley and were put up with support from ourselves London Calling Blog.
