(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS volleyball team has won their third straight district championship. The Lady Mustangs prevailed over the Sarasota High School Sailors in a match to four sets.

“It’s awesome to win districts, especially since its my senior year,” said senior Ali Milbourn. Milbourn has returned stronger than ever as the Lakewood Ranch setter and as a team leader.

Junior Nicole Grant had a solid match in the middle, blocking and hitting.

“It’s always fun to win a big game like this”, the said. “We started out strong, had a little bit of trouble in the third set, but then ended the game strong.”

The Mustangs won 25-23, 25-15, 23-25, and 25-22. The Lady Mustangs will be back on Tues. Oct 5 to play in the FHSAA Regional Quarter Finals at Lakewood Ranch.
