(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Snares were tightened, trumpets were polished, and the LRHS Mustang Marching band took to the field for their final 2013 competition last weekend.

The Florida Marching Band Championships competition was at St. Petersburg’s Tropicana Field, and the Marching Mustangs had prepared all season.

The LRHS band placed fifth out of 12 bands in Class 4A. The categories are based on band size, 1A being the smallest and 5A the largest.

LRHS assistant band director Danielle Marine said, “We really played to the best of our ability, but there was a lot of crazy competition,” she stated. “Our best aspect was definitely how well put together the show was, and just the general organization. We could have worked on the visual aspect.”
