(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS girls varsity basketball team is currently undefeated, their record is 7-0.

The girls practice everyday and make the sport their life, they are aiming to win the state championship at the end of the season.

Head coach Tina Hadley makes it her number one priority to give the girls the best possible experience on the court.

“These girls are so passionate about the sport and give it their all every game, I feel that they should be rewarded for their handwork and thats the reason we’re undefeated,” she said.

The girls beat rivals Braden River High last week 71-34. The closest victory the girls have had so far is a 15 point win.

Freshman LaDazia Williams starts at center for the Mustangs.

“Starting on varsity my freshman year is such a privilege, and being undefeated makes me want to work even harder. I think our team definitely has the potential to win it all in the end.”

Sarasota High School is the girls biggest competition right now. Sarasota only has one loss. The girls play the Sailors 7 p.m., Thursday at the Ranch.
