(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Softball Mustangs play for the regional title tomorrow at home against Melbourne at 4 pm. The game was previously scheduled at 7 pm, but was moved because of Prom scheduling.

The softball team won their regional semifinal Tuesday against Ruskin East Lake High 3-1.

Junior Amanda Rak and freshman Logan Newton dominated from the mound.

Junior Jackie Schoff added the winning RBI with a triple.

The team hopes to continue in their playoff run and make it to at least the State championship playoffs.

The softball team’s season motto is, “We hit bombs and we’re studs.” Players say it’s relevance is unknown but it’s catchy.

Freshman pitcher Logan Newton said “The team’s goal is to make it to the final four and go farther than we have in previous years by keeping our defense strong and executing at the plate.”
