(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The hard work of LRHS teachers and administrators was recognized Wednesday April 30, during the school’s twelfth annual Faculty Awards Night.

Faculty Awards Night is sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA) and honors and recognizes exceptional teachers and administrators at LRHS.

The ceremony allows for winners in every department of the school, honoring one teacher from each.

Teachers are not the only ones recognized, however. The ceremony also grants awards to exceptional staff members, including cafeteria and custodial workers.

Aside from the typical awards, students selected winners in humorous categories, such as “Most Likely to Win the Hunger Games” and “Most Likely to Get in a Fight on Black Friday.”

SGA students plan the event and survey the faculty and students to determine the winners.

SGA adviser Kent Ringquist is proud of the opportunity this ceremony provides.

“It’s a fun night for the teachers to come to get together,” he said. “It’s for some of the staff members who don’t have a chance to be recognized throughout the year.”
