(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) The holidays are quickly approaching, with only five school days left until Winter Break. It’s the season of giving and Mustangs are looking forward to spending time with loved ones and exchanging presents.

The LRHS Mini Mustangs eagerly anticipate the coming holidays.

Senior Melissa Danforth is hoping for a car this year. Danforth has been practicing for her driver’s test and plans to get her license during the break.

“After I get my license,” she said, “I want to get a 2014 silver Honda Accord.”

Senior John Merritt, looks forward to spending time with his family.

“This Christmas I just want to spend time with family and friends,” he said. “I’m not asking for anything in particular.”

Freshmen Ellie Johnson has been the playing the guitar for two years. She enjoys playing the guitar with her dad and learning new songs.

“I would like a new guitar for Christmas this year,” she said. “I’m hoping for a Fender.”

Meanwhile, many teachers are decking out their classrooms with Christmas and Hanukkah decorations.

“I think its pretty and its nice to have decorations for the holidays because it brings happiness to students like me,” said sophomore Jennifer Seminick.

The decorations are all around school like, the library, front office, and some teachers classrooms are hard to miss.

“You can tell the way I feel by the way my classroom is decorated.” Said Exceptional Student Education teacher Melissa Khoelinger, whose classroom is sporting a decorated tree among other decor.

Winter Break is December 22 to January 5
