(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS baseball tryouts start Monday, Jan. 12, and will run through Thursday, Jan. 15 from 3-5 p.m.

Tryouts will be overseen by head coach Ryan Kennedy and assistant coach Brett Holte. The coaches expect a large turnout for tryouts, probably around 70 students, but Kennedy and Holte plan to create a team of the most qualified 40 students.

Both coaches are excited about the 2015 baseball tryouts. This is Kennedy’s fourth year of coaching at LRHS and Holte’s third year.

“Developing the kids is my favorite part, they keep me young,” Holte said.

Both Holte and Kennedy say the love of the game is why the coach.

” My favorite part of coaching baseball here is helping to develop the kids in baseball and in life,” Kennedy said.

The Mustangs will have their first regular season game on Friday, Feb. 13, against Tampa’s Berkley Prep High School.
