LRHS obtained this new athletic bus this month.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – “We have found a solution to save the school at least $30,000 a year,” said LRHS Athletic Director Shawn Trent.

In previous years the athletic program has been spending over $52,000 every year to transport athletes to and from the events. This month, however, the school bought a bus that is only in use for the athletes at the school.

The bus cost around $46,000 but not all of the sports will be able to use it.

The bus will be driven by coaches for the sport being transported. Each driver will need a Commercial Drivers License with a Passenger Endorsement to transport the athletes to and from the events.
