(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Lakewood Ranch High School softball team is ready to start the season after a hard couple weeks of practice. This Thursday and Friday, Jan. 29 and 30, the team will play two pre-season games at Sarasota Riverview High School.

Thursday’s game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and Friday’s at 7 p.m..

“I’m really excited that season is finally starting'” stated Mustang sophomore pitcher Logan Newton. “It came so fast and now that it’s finally here I’m super excited to get back on the field for my school.”

Head coach Maggie Feix is treating this game as any other even though it’s a pre- season game and doesn’t count in the standings.

“I think we’ve prepared enough for this game, we’re a really dedicated team,” said junior catcher Maddie Biggs.
