(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustang sophomores and juniors got a glimpse into their futures Thursday morning as LRHS held its final academy day of the school year. Students had experiences based on their selected career academies.

Students in the Art Academy received a lecture from Ringling College‘s director of career services.

“I thought the speaker was really fun and it was also pretty informative,” said junior Jackie St. John.

Public Service and Health Academy students received an array of information as visitors from the Digital Observer Media Group, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, and Suncoast Workforce educated students on how to succeed in health professions.

“They gave us a lot of positive tips and it helped me figure out the process of applying for jobs that I hadn’t thought about before,” said sophomore Leah Ellermets.

The business academy had a unique experience with the Universal Technical Institute.

“The technical institute brought motorcycles; it was gnarly,” said junior James Delmutolo, “I learned that if I want to succeed in my future I should follow a path in the technological field.”

LRHS College and Career Coordinator Michelle Todoroff was content with the results of the day.

“The students were all educated on career paths from their academies so they could understand what opportunities they have.” said Todoroff, “Hopefully they were able to learn something regarding their futures.”
