(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Now that the Lakewood Ranch softball season came to an end, head coach Maggie Feix has the opportunity to think back on her first year coaching at the Ranch.

Feix states that the year was a lot of fun.

“There were some obstacles to overcome but there was great support from the staff,” she said. “I’m very proud of the team.”

Feix has coached a high school team before, but she still believes that she learned a lot from the Mustangs.

“I learned how tenacious the girls are,” she said, “and I hope to further develop their skills and leadership, and using their intensity.”

The favorite part of the season for Feix would be the relationship built with the girls, and “helping them believe in themselves.”

Feix can’t wait to get back on the field with the Mustangs, and will hold a camp for

Manatee Little League for the younger players, hosted by the Junior Varsity and varsity Mustangs at the end of June.

The Mustangs’ season ended at the district semi-final earlier this month.
