(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Lakewood Ranch varsity football team is kicking off the regular season with high hopes, despite the pre season game loss of 14 – 20 against Riverview high school.

This Friday, August 28 will be the first regular season game home against Jesuit High School.  Assistant coach Jake Sponsel said, “I have a lot of confidence in the team this year, they’re all very dedicated players.”

This Friday’s game is a ” Green Out ” a great opportunity for students to show off school spirit.

“All support helps, and the players love seeing all the fans rooting them on, ” said Sponsel.  “I’m looking forward to the game and it would be great to start this season off with a victory. “
