My work is about an idea of perfection that I see in ordinary things.  The moment of apprehension – or seeing – is mysterious and vague.  Painting is, by and large, a rational process that aims at clarity through understanding.  The art work, distinguished from the moment of inspiration, has a detached air of objectivity that is not dispassionate.  Intuition and instinct are partners with reason in achieving it.
