DAMASCUS, (PIC)– Ezzet Al-Resheq, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, has urged de facto Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas to declare his true intention of forging national reconciliation on national basis and resistance.

He told Quds Press that Abbas should face the American bias in favor of Israel with such national reconciliation and with halting security coordination and negotiations that only serves Israel. Abbas should declare that 18 years of negotiations had led to nothing and proved Israel’s insincerity then go and establish reconciliation, he added.

The Hamas leader said that settling the internal security issue was a very important guarantee for success of any reconciliation agreement, adding that his movement did not call for Hamas-Fatah quota concept.

He explained that Hamas championed national partnership including participation of all factions in drawing the higher security policies.

The higher security committee in the Cairo dialogs stipulated among other issues its formation through national understanding and not according to a Fatah-Hamas agreement.

Resheq said that the Palestinian people had suffered a lot as a result of Fatah’s one-sided control of the security apparatuses, charging that Fatah used those apparatuses to chase resistance fighters and strike opposition.
