GAZA, (PIC)– The Palestinian government of Ismail Haneyya in Gaza Strip on Sunday assured citizens of the availability of all food and fuel supplies in the wake of the unrest in neighboring Egypt.

A statement for the government media office said that all kinds of foodstuff and fuel were available in comfortable quantities, adding that there is no reason to fear in this regard.

It said the government was closely following up the markets and prices, warning of any attempt to exploit the situation to increase prices.

Gaza inhabitants have been crowding fuel stations and food stores since Saturday evening after rumors spread that pumping fuel through Gaza tunnels had stopped due to the events in Gaza.

The Gaza Strip mainly depends on tunnels, linking it to Egypt, in smuggling foodstuff and fuel due to the tightened Israeli siege.
