AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Former Israeli premier Ehud Olmert said in a new book that “there is nothing called the right of return” and settlements and Jewish outposts in the east of occupied Jerusalem will remain if there is a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

In his 544-page memoirs, the days of decisions, Olmert further vindicated the authenticity of Al-Jazeera TV papers that exposed the concessions made by the Palestinian authority negotiators and de facto president Mahmoud Abbas.

The former premier stated in his book that he was just around the corner to reach a solution with the Palestinian authority (PA) over a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders and land swaps in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

He said the Jewish neighborhoods that were built illegally in east Jerusalem would remain under Israel’s sovereignty in agreement with the PA, while the holy basin would be under the mandate of five countries protecting rights of the three heavenly religions.

As for the right of return, he explained that he agreed with the Palestinian party on allowing the return of some Palestinians for humanitarian considerations to the future Palestinian state, but he said Israel would be the party that determines the number of Palestinians whose return would be permitted.

The premier talked in his book that the PA negotiators agreed on letting Israel keep its settlements around Jerusalem such as Ma’ale Adumim.

His book also states that the future Palestinian state will be devoid of any military force or any foreign presence and will be prevented from joining military alliances with countries having no diplomatic ties with Israel.

According to the book, Israel is free to use the airspace of this Palestinian state and control the West Bank electromagnetic field.
