GAZA, (PIC)– The Palestinian opposition resistance factions said they reject the idea of holding any local, legislative or presidential elections in the occupied Palestinian territories in light of the internal division, stressing that the Palestinian people and their resistance forces would not be bound by the results of such elections.

In a news conference held Sunday morning in Gaza, spokesman for the factions Jamal Al-Batrawi said the elections that were called for by Fatah and its authority in Ramallah city were unconstitutional and did not receive a national consensus.

Batrawi, who is a senior official of the popular struggle front, stressed the need for restoring the Palestinian unity before holding any elections.

The official hailed the Egyptian revolution for overthrowing its oppressor and saving the Arab nation from the yoke of tyranny and injustice.

He called for necessarily reopening the Rafah border crossing as a need emerged from the change that happened in Egypt.
