WEST BANK, (PIC)– An informed source told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that there were pressures from senior Fatah leaders especially from the revolutionary council on de facto president Mahmoud Abbas to replace prominent figures around him with new faces in order to absorb the street’s resentment.

The source added that Abbas’s office and Fatah central committee are acting, following the Egyptian revolution, in a blundering and improvised way in an attempt to convince the West Bankers that there are substantial changes and political reforms in the Palestinian authority (PA).

The source affirmed that PA chief negotiator Saeb Erekat was removed from his post and did not resign, but he was given the chance to resign to save face.

In a separate incident, amid the ongoing news blackout in the West Bank, the PA security militias kidnapped anew 12 Palestinian citizens affiliated with Hamas Movement in the cities of Al-Khalil, Jenin, Nablus and Tubas, according to different local sources on Tuesday.
