GAZA, (PIC)– The Hamas Movement reiterated its keenness on the inter-Palestinian reconciliation that is based on the political partnership and the protection of national constants and the option of resistance, affirming it did not receive any initiative in this regard from Fatah.

“We did not get officially any overture from Fatah faction or the liberation organization about any kind of reconciliation,” senior Hamas official and lawmaker Salah Al-Bardawil commented on the reported offer made by Salam Fayyad about his approval to let Hamas take part in his government.

Bardawil stressed in a press statement to the Palestinian information center (PIC) that Salam Fayyad does not represent Palestinian leadership or an opposition party, and heads an unconstitutional government, so he is not entitled to speak in public affairs.

The Hamas official underlined that any solution to the crisis should be comprehensive because the problem is not related to the kind of government, but the solution should start with the rebuilding of the Palestinian liberation organization (PLO) and end with the formation of a government through fair elections to the national council and the parliament.

In the same context, senior Islamic Jihad official Nafed Azzam stressed the need to swiftly end the Palestinian division and renounce the entire settlement process.

Azzam warned in a press statement to Quds Press that the continued internal crisis increase the Palestinian people’s suffering and strengthen Israel’s hegemony.

“We are all demanded to move and intensify efforts to end this deplorable division in the Palestinian arena,” the Islamic Jihad official said.
