Israeli troops have arrested six Palestinians in different areas of the occupied West Bank, security sources say.

Palestinian security sources say the Israeli army forces detained six Palestinians after storming into their homes on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.

The troops broke into several residents in the West Bank cities of Jenin, Ramallah, Bethlehem and al-Khalil.

Tel Aviv authorities claim that two of the detainees were wanted for being involved in planning attacks against Israel.

There are no reports on the identities of the detained Palestinians.

Palestinian witnesses say the Israeli bulldozers also demolished a house near an illegal Jewish settlement in south Bethlehem on Tuesday.

Last week, Israeli troops arrested four members of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in the occupied West Bank.

Some 11,000 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, are currently held in Israeli jails. Many of them are held without charges, leaving several families with no breadwinner.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently announced plans to make the conditions tougher for Palestinian prisoners.

“We will give them (the prisoners) all that they deserve according to international law but nothing beyond that,” Netanyahu said in late June.

The prisoners held in Israeli detention camps are continuously subjected to lengthy solitary confinements, sudden night raids and torture.

The Israeli prison administration is said to be using the policy of humiliation, pressure and punishment under the guise of security in its jails.

It also deprives Palestinian political detainees of the simple right of bathing, access to clean clothes and family visits.
