<div><strong>London – PNN &#8211; UFree, the European network to support the rights of Palestinian prisoners, has released a press release welcoming the decision by the British High Court to allow Sheikh Raed Salah bail but reiterates that he must be fully released.</strong></div>
<div><img style="float:right;" title="Image" src="https://i0.wp.com/english.pnn.ps/images/stories/2008/raedsalah.jpg" alt="Image" width="140" height="111" border="0" hspace="6" />Sheikh Salah was arrested and detained in Britain more than two weeks ago while on a speaking tour of the country.</div>
<div>Commentators have said Sheikh Salah&#8217;s arrest was a purely political one due to his roles in pro-Palestinian activism, the Freedom Flotilla, and his status as leader of the Islamic Movements Northern Wing in Israel. There have been allegations that the Zionist lobby in Britain had pressured the government into making the arrest.</div>
<div>A British immigration judge had previously tried to deny Salah bail last week but due to a lack of evidence against the Sheikh this could not be carried through.</div>
<div>UFree stated that the British government have until 4pm today to make a decision to appeal the bail. The human rights organisation said their hope was for the case to be thrown out so that ‘Sheikh Salah can clear his name against the smears and lies perpetuated in the British media once and for all.’</div>
<div>UFree considers Sheikh Raed Salah to be a political prisoner in the United Kingdom. His arrest and detainment has been criticised across Palestinian society.</div>
