GAZA, (PIC)– Palestinian premier in Gaza Ismail Haneyya has said that the Palestinian people want a fully sovereign Palestine state that does not sacrifice national constants and rights topped by the right of return for millions of refugees to their homeland.

He told reporters after the Friday congregation that he was against begging for a state, adding that the UN deliberations on granting the Palestinians a state was infringing on the Palestinian people’s dignity.

The Palestinian people are not begging for a state, Haneyya said, adding that statehood is grabbed and not begged. “States are not created by UN resolutions but rather liberated then established,” he explained.

The premier also criticized the proposal by French president Nicolas Sarkozy to grant Palestine state an observer status at the UN for one year as a transitional period, describing it as an attempt to circumvent the Palestinian people’s rights.
