RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled the weekly anti-wall marches in a number of West Bank villages on Friday using rubber bullets, teargas, and waste water.

Coordinator of the popular anti-wall committee in Nabi Saleh village, Ramallah province, Nariman Saleh Tamimi said that the IOF soldiers invaded the village in the early morning hours and launched a “preventive arrest campaign” in a desperate attempt to abort the weekly march.

She said that three Palestinian young men were rounded up but that did not deter the participants who rallied in the severe cold weather.

Bashir Tamimi, the head of the village’s municipal council, said that the soldiers used dogs in breaking into homes and deliberately wreaked havoc in the stormed houses.

In Kufr Qaddoum village, west of Qalqilia, dozens hit the streets in a similar peaceful march demanding the opening of a main street in the village that was closed by the IOF nine years ago.

The IOF soldiers also used force to disperse similar marches in Ma’sara village in Bethlehem where spokesman for the popular anti-wall committee Mohammed Breijia said that tens of citizens took part in the march despite the rainy weather.

In Bilin march many of the participants, locals and foreigners, were treated for breathing difficulty and vomiting after the soldiers sprayed them with waste water mixed with chemicals and teargas.
