<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><oembed><version><![CDATA[1.0]]></version><provider_name><![CDATA[PAXsims]]></provider_name><provider_url><![CDATA[https://paxsims.wordpress.com]]></provider_url><author_name><![CDATA[Rex Brynen]]></author_name><author_url><![CDATA[https://paxsims.wordpress.com/author/rexjbrynen/]]></author_url><title><![CDATA[Afghan provincial reconstruction (optional&nbsp;rules)]]></title><type><![CDATA[link]]></type><html><![CDATA[<p>As <a href="https://paxsims.wordpress.com/2013/03/16/reconstructing-afghanistan/" target="_blank">previously mentioned</a> here at PAXsims, last term I modified the <a href="https://paxsims.wordpress.com/2012/03/03/the-afghan-provincial-reconstruction-game/" target="_blank">Afghan Provincial Reconstruction game</a> to include a Taliban team, and also added associated &#8220;insurgency cards&#8221; that they could try to use to sabotage stabilization efforts. Since then, I&#8217;ve done still more tinkering by changing the turn sequence, reworking the &#8220;national stability index,&#8221; adding new provincial and national event cards.</p>
<p>I have had a request for those optional/revised rules, so if you&#8217;re interested <a href="https://paxsims.files.wordpress.com/2013/08/afghan-pr-optional-rules.pdf">here they are</a> (pdf format). To make any sense of them you&#8217;ll need the original game. I also haven&#8217;t had a chance to playtest the latest version, so I can&#8217;t be sure that the game balance is quite right.</p>
