1) Less is more
– More than 65% people are visual learners, so to make your presentation more interesting you should use pictures, short videos, infographics, and graphs. The key is simplicity, use your own templates and stick to just one font. If you have only text on your slides it makes it harder to read and it’s harder for people to pay attention so highlight the most important things you want to say, and write them on the slide. Your slide should not contain more than 6 words.
2) Create a story
– To create more interest in your presentation, tell a story. Many types of research have said that people memorize more things when they are told a story. This is especially good if you have some tough themes that are harder to understand. Also, an important step is to have a „Hook“. Open with something surprising and intriguing to keep the attention of your audience.
3) Engage with your audience
– If you want to keep the interest of your audience, you should definitely try asking them questions, include them in a conversation or try them to do something. This way they won’t easily wander away and they will fully bring their attention to what you are saying.
4) Prepare
– When you’re done designing your presentation you should prepare yourself. The last but also one of the most important steps is to prepare. If you could, record yourself, in that way you can see what mistakes you are making. Also, revise as many times as possible this way you will avoid being nervous, and your presentation will go smoothly. In the end, just take a few big breathes and relax.
