<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;">My daughters are <span class="yshortcuts">leaving home</span> next month and, guess what, they want to take the <span class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom:1px dashed #0066cc;cursor:pointer;">Wii</span> with them. Well, they can’t both have it. In fact they can’t either of them have it, because it is mine and I want to keep it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;"><span class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom:medium none;background:transparent none repeat scroll 0 0;cursor:pointer;">Nintendo</span> don’t even need to market it to them – it is sold already.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;">That’s two more sales for Nintendo, and is something you don’t see with the PS360. When your boy (it is always a boy) leaves home he takes his PS360 with him and, frankly, you are glad to see the back of it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;">And that consequence of the Wii being a family machine just doesn’t seem to have been noticed. Rough-cutting the numbers, I’d guess that at least 2/3 of Wiis have sold to families, and that each of those families will spawn a further 1.5 Wiis over the next 5 years. That’s an extra 30m Wiis.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;">That would mean roughly that Nintendo could stop <em>all</em> marketing right now and still outsell the <span class="yshortcuts">Xbox 360</span> over the next five years.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:small;">That should scare somebody!</span></p>

<p>Young women buying their own Wii systems!? Makes me wish I was in college.</p>
<p>Like an avalanche, the Wii doesn&#8217;t stop. It just snowballs larger and larger and larger!</p>
