ALERT!

This is a special news bulletin from your favorite Malstrom. Sony and Microsoft have released motion controllers. Actually, that is not true. There is only ‘tech demos’ and no software or real products shown. Still, it shows they want to get in on motion control.

ALERT! ALERT!

This is the Hardcore Suicide Alert briefing. We will be making announcements every few hours. If you are on a message forum, soothe your nearest hardcore member. Tell them, “It will be OK.” Tell them, “Gaming will still go on.”

Poor hardcore! They thought E3 2005 was bad with Nintendogs. Boy, they didn’t know what was coming. E3 2006 was hell to them. E3 2007 got even worse with Wii Fit (the apocalypse of gaming!). E3 2008 had Wii Music and Motion Plus.

But E3 2009 may be the breaking point. The direction of gaming is now clear…

The desire for the ‘old ways’ are over, ladies and gentlemen! Break out the trumpets! Let out the women so they can start dancing! Bring out the cigars and cognac!

Instead of one game industry, we have two. The core game industry and the new expanded game industry. One has a future, the other does not.

The Era of the Hardcore is over. Now, we enter the Era of Disruption!
