I’m guessing that, besides not posting lately, you are receiving
plenty of emails about DKC R right?
Well then… heres another one, hope you enjoy it. xD

Let me take the obvious out of the way first, the game is awesome!

Everyone who enjoyed so much the original DKC like myself or the whole
SNES trilogy for the matter, sure will enjoy this new game.
I started playing in 2 players and oh… the nostalgia… it was very
fun during the entire world 1 but also hard and not because the second
player… the game is very challenging since the beginning.
In fact, it’s a kind of challenging game as I have not seen in a long,
long time. And like the original DKC, it’s not frustrating at all, it
is hard, but nothing there (at least until where I am in the game, 5th
world btw) seems like cheap to me.

The design of the stages is a really clever one and very reminiscent
of the Rareware of those days long gone.
You will die a lot, lose dozens if not hundreds of lives, specially
trying to get those pesky K-O-N-G letters or the puzzle pieces just
missed during a insane mine cart level ride.
And yet, will try again with pleasure in a hope that now you’ll get it right.
I consider myself a skilled player (now rolling and jumping all the
way through the game) and a experienced one from the original DKC
trilogy, but I gotta say… or this is the hardest DKC that I’ve ever
played or I’m really rusty.

Retro Studios have indeed done a great work with this title, its a
beautiful game, with the island looking fantastic and quite a engaging
place to overcome. The music is at it’s best when it plays tunes from
the classic Donkey Kong Country soundtrack.
I thought, as you may or may not recall from a email sent by me titled
“where are the Kremlings!?..”, that the absence of the kremlings could
be bad sign from what kind of return to expect for and who knows what
else could be missing… but my worries fell flat afterall. I now do
not even remember about the kremlings while playing.
It’s a fresh DKC game.

Also you will laugh a lot while in the Cranky’s cabin shop.

Now, take a look on these sales:
http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/45674/donkey-kong-country-returns/

already in the game’s first week, more than half a million!

Thanks for your time and I hope you too get the game

I’ll pick it up eventually. Stupid Christmas gifts are eating my spending budget. I was able to pick up Mario Collection since I have no idea how long that will be available.

Speaking of that, I am glad I picked up the Metroid Prime Trilogy while I did. That game is selling very high now.

I think this is the first time that Retro’s game is the flagship holiday game for the Nintendo console.
