<p>No, this is normal Miyamoto. Not even Iwata is allowed to tell him what to do.</p>
<p>It wasn&#8217;t until 2d Mario&#8217;s massive sales that the board is forcing Miyamoto to continue 2d Mario. I believe sometime after Super Mario World, Miyamoto got free reign to do whatever he wants and no one can tell him to do anything. Not even the market itself!</p>
