We aren’t poor and we only have one television.

This doesn’t mean I like Wii H8 U but seriously, don’t make such broad generalizations.
(And I live in America too)

The reason why the war over the living room entertainment that Sony and Microsoft waged ended up being for nothing is because the prices for TVs came down. Everything has a monitor screen now. Even cell-phones. The war for the living room was based on the fact that a television was expensive so whoever controls that space controls the television.

Now, TVs are everywhere. This is why I don’t think the Wii h8 U having ‘streaming to controller’ means a damn to anyone.

It is not a broad generalization. 88% of American households have more than one TV. I suspect some of the remaining 12% only choose to have one TV (because there is nothing to watch with the quality of the programming these days). For example, I only have one TV which I would remove if I didn’t have the Wii.

The number of TVs per household is a common survey question so there is much data on it. In Japan, the number of TVs per household I believe is 2 and up.

The point is that we no longer live in a one TV per household world anymore. A game console revolving around that idea makes the system feel ‘weak’ even if the technology is advanced.
