Dear Mixmaster M,

Let me start this email by saying that I’m a big fan of Treyarch’s Call of Duty games. I didn’t like the Modern Warfare games that Infinity Ward has made, but I’ve logged in countless hours into Black Ops and World at War. The only reason I turn on my Xbox 360 is to play those two games. Naturally, I am looking forward to Black Ops 2.

For every CoD game they made in the past half decade, they also made a Wii port alongside them. Sadly, they are total ass and are not worth buying over the HD versions. Aside from the PS2 graphics (which aren’t an issue at all), the Wii versions suffer from:

-Cut content due to lack of disc space and RAM

-Inferior game engine making everything feel a bit less smooth

-Shoddy online due to Wii’s friend code system

-Lack of splitscreen (The biggest deal breaker here)

As an avid Wii gamer whose first system was the NES, I wouldn’t spend $50 on this when the 360 version is the full deal. With the Wii U port, it looks like they’re fixing all those issues and then some. You can even use the U Pad to play 2 player where both players have a full screen to themselves. There’s also the Wiimote controls, which were the best part of the Wii ports. I’m still a bit worried that they might screw it up by not having DLC support or poor optimization, but it probably won’t happen. I hope.

If the Wii U ends up having the best version of Call of Duty, that could be a bit of trouble for Microsoft and Sony, especially Microsoft. Shit, if they ever re-port Black Ops 1 to the Wii U without making it suck, my 360 would be gathering dust.

Let’s hope that more good ports come to the Wii U.I can see where you’re coming from. Although I am curious why you keep playing Black Ops 2? I’ve never really played these games so I’m curious what keeps you coming back to them? How do they differ from, say, Halo?
