Remember when killer apps used to be games?

This shows how badly the Wii U will perform. When the Wii was released, Reggie-Fils-Aime was saying “It’s the games and nothing but the games” while showing off Wii Sports and Twilight Princess. Today, it is ‘TViiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii’ or ‘Mii Verse’. Yeah, this console has serious problems.

You know, I want to know how things are considered ‘smart’ in the Game Industry. Somehow, we have people in the Game Industry who think the ‘killer app’ for their game console will be a non-gaming function. These people are declared smart and what they say are said to be smart.

I’ve been around for every game generation, and one thing always remains constant: games are what sells game consoles. Not ‘social networking’. Not ‘DVD playback’. Not ‘Blu-Ray playback’. Not ‘Twitter’. Games.

Wii U will sell or not sell because of the games. It is that simple. If there is going to be a killer app for the Wii U, it is going to be a game.
