<p>Throughout my life, my &#8216;tastes&#8217; in video games changes when my life changes. When I&#8217;ve become depressed, I tend to play RPGs. When I&#8217;m optimistic and active, I play many short but difficult games (and more competitive games). I think Yamauchi was right on.</p>
<p>Today, games are so much slower than what they used to be. If every game has to be an RPG today, what does that say about today&#8217;s gamers?</p>
