The lack of hinge was never a problem for the Gameboys or Gameboy Advance because they could always fit in your pocket. The only exception is maybe the original beefy brick Gameboy, but then they made a new model specifically called the Gameboy POCKET. With the 2DS it looks like it’s going to be both too long and too wide to fit in a kid’s pocket and maybe an adult’s. That’s a dealbreaker for a lot of people because it hampers PORTABILITY which is important for a handheld. The GBA even though it looked like a lunchbox was still compact. This however, is not compact.

I really want to buy this, but the awkward square design is killing me. I hope it’s a lot smaller than it looks when I see it in person.
