<p><em>I seem to recall you posting about how disappointing it was that the developers of FTL seemed more interested in selling merchandise than making a better game. Anyway, seems like there may just be something <a href="http://www.ftlgame.com/?p=598" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">here</a> that might be for you. A free expansion, which can be disabled before starting a new game if one should so desire, was certainly a pleasant surprise for me.</em></p>
