Since 2006, Síntese – GMC has organized, with the Municipal Theatre of Guarda, eleven editions of “Síntese”, the Contemporary Music Cycle of Guarda

Most of the new music written for Síntese – GMC was premiered at this festival.

Several chamber groups and solosists have performed at this festival: Christophe Desjardins, Proxima Cebtauri, Ensemble Les Temps Modernes, Vortex Ensemble, Smash Ensemble, Ensemble L’Imaginaire, Paulo Álvares, Frauke Aulbert, Magnet Duo, Performa Ensemble, L’Imaginaire, MDI Esnemble, among others.

In the current year of  2020 the 14th edition of the Contemporary Music Cycle of Guarda will take place. Like in the previous editions, the activities will be held mostly in the cities of Guarda and Castelo Branco and also in Viseu.
