<p>It is quite clear that periods of colder weather produce more violent tornadoes. The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Outbreak">worst outbreak was in 1974</a>, the peak year of the &#8220;<a href="http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,944914,00.html">Ice Age Scare</a>.&#8221;  Another big tornado year (not shown) was the La Niña year of 2008, which had very cold spring temperatures.</p>
<p>Tornadoes form when cold air collides with warm humid air. A warming Arctic should result in less extreme weather, not more. The opposite of what is constantly being claimed by some &#8220;experts.&#8221;</p>
