<p>Between 1760 and 1860, the glacier at Glacier Bay, Alaska retreated a disturbing 30 miles. Atmospheric CO2 was 280 ppm at the time.</p>
<p>Fortunately, recent higher CO2 levels seem to be associated with much slower retreat.  In fact, some regions of the West Arm have not retreated at all during the last 100 years.</p>
