<p>I was watching BBC&#8217;s &#8220;Planet Earth&#8221; and was shocked to find out that most animals are in a life or death struggle every day.</p>
<p>Prior to global warming, the natural world was a much kinder, gentler place. All baby boomers remember that.</p>
